Assistant Professor of Fine
Arts Melissa Schulenberg and three of her students attended the
recent annual meeting of the Southern Graphics Council, held in Washington,
D.C., which had as its theme "Power in Print." All four also contributed
works for an exchange and archive.
Jenevieve Johnson '06, Woodstock, VT; Ann Marie Brown '06, Clayville,
NY; and Christopher Kimball '06, Lexington, MA; attended with Schulenberg,
and each created an editioned print (edition of 13) which were turned in
at registration. Ten of the prints were redistributed to participants in
a random selection process, with the remaining three prints from each
edition retained as complete sets for the SGC Archive at the University
of Mississippi and the Amity Art Foundation. Plans call for the entire
archive to be available online.
Members of the SGS include professors and teachers, graduate and undergraduate
students, professional artists, art historians, museum and gallery curators
and collectors. Alicia Giuliani '04, who recently exhibited works created
with Sharpie markers in the Richard F.
Brush Art Gallery on campus, was also a participant in the event.
