It's not easy to invent an entire new genre of fiction, but that's just what
Scott Pomfret '90 and his partner, Scott Whittier, of Boston, have done.
The two Scotts, who've named their company Scott + Scott, are filling a market
niche: romance fiction for gay men. Right now, it's available on the Internet,
at Romentics.com, but major publishers have reportedly expressed interest
in producing the books.
The venture has caught the interest of the news media as well, with feature
stories appearing recently in The Boston Globe and the Toronto
Globe & Mail.
Pomfret, who received his St. Lawrence degree in psychology and English
(writing), was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and the Irving Bacheller Society
English honorary as a student. He was also active in the Outing Club, and
is now an attorney for the Securities and Exchange Commission.
