Members of St. Lawrence's Student Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) made a
donation on behalf of the University's athletes to Canton's Church and
Community Workers fund for the holidays. Shown in the above photo are,
from left, SAAC Co-Chair Liz Masterson, Steamboat Springs, CO; Shari
Wilcox, of the Church and Community Workers Program; and SAAC Co-Chair
Colin FitzRandolph, Canton, NY. Members of the SAAC asked each student
on their respective teams to make a donation of $2 to this year's fund;
Masterson and FitzRandolph presented a gift of $1,250 as a result of the
effort, over $300 more than the organization made to the program in
2003.
Established in 1995-96, the SAAC is made up of representatives from each of
St. Lawrence's 32 intercollegiate athletic teams. The mission of the SAAC is
to enhance the student-athlete experience through communication and
opportunities in athletics. Representatives are responsible for representing
the interests of their respective teams and acting as student-athlete
liaisons to the athletic administration and the administration of the
University as a whole.
