Professor of Canadian Studies Robert Thacker
recently gave an invited talk to the City Club of Boise, Idaho, for its
"Big Read" of Willa Cather's My Ántonia.
The "Big Read," according to The Cabin (a literary center for Idaho) "is a time
to share a favorite or important book, to explore ideas, themes and topics
of local interest, to dust off the bookshelf and visit an old classic,
or to enjoy new discoveries in contemporary writing. Celebrated in the
spring, the program brings numerous community events and activities to
the Treasure Valley and other Idaho locations."
Thacker's April 24 talked was titled "Willa Cather's Inside Inspiration," and
is available online, through
Boise State Radio.
