Rick Sprague, senior circulation technician in Owen D. Young Library, recently
won the CSEA Private Sector Mission Achievement Award. Sprague is president of the
organization's St. Lawrence University Local, a position he's held since the mid-1990's.
An article in the July-August issue of the CSEA publication The Work Force about the award quotes Sprague -- who accepted the honor "humbly" -- stating that the contract between the CSEA and the University belongs to both parties. "It's not the CSEA contract; it's the union's and the University's contract," the article states.
Mission Achievement Awards are given to individuals representing both the private sector and public sector.
