Rebecca Klar '10, of Easton, CT, has been awarded a research grant by the Beta Beta Beta Research Foundation in support of her honors Senior-Year Experience project in neuroscience. Working with Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology Karin Heckman, Klar is studying a naturally occurring pigment with potential therapeutic effects for multiple sclerosis.
The Beta Beta Beta Research Awards are intended to support undergraduate research by awarding cash scholarships annually to students conducting student research. Beta Beta Beta is the national biology honor society, and Klar is a member of the St. Lawrence chapter.
A neuroscience major, with a minor in chemistry, Klar is a member of Chi Omega sorority and the St. Lawrence EMS team. She is a graduate of Joel Barlow High School in Redding, CT.
