Assistant Professor of English Pedro Ponce won
the 2nd Annual Burnside Review Fiction Chapbook Competition,
with a story titled "Superstitions of Apartment Life."
Burnside Review's Web site states, "The number of well written, unique
and entertaining stories were overwhelming. Pedro Ponce's 'Superstitions
of Apartment Life,' which judge Aimee Bender called, 'smart, lively,
funny, distinct' will be published this summer by Burnside Review
Press. He will also be awarded the cash prize of $200."
Burnside Review is an independent journal based in Portland, Oregon.
