Four members of the Class of 2011 were elected to St. Lawrence's chapter of Phi Beta Kappa,
the national academic honor society, on October 2, 2010, as part of the Univesity's Family Weekend celebrations.
Election to Phi Beta Kappa is based on grade-point average and completion of appropriate credits toward a St. Lawrence University degree. To be considered, students must earn a 3.5 or better cumulative grade-point average by the close of their junior year, and have completed six semesters at St. Lawrence. Transfer students must have completed four semesters before they are eligible for consideration.
Newly elected are Katelynn Benzing, a mathematics/economics major with statistics minor from Angola, NY; Caitlin Estes, a biology/psychology major from Ossipee, NH; Kelsey Rebehn, a biology major with chemistry minor from Averill Park, NY; and Madalene Boyle, a biology major from New Hartford, NY.
