Students from St. Lawrence University presented their original research
at a statewide sociology conference this fall.
Brenda Papineau '02, Hogansburg, NY; Leah Krieger '03, Amesbury, MA;
Melissa Wilson '03, Ogdensburg, NY; and Katherine Resto '02, Bronx, NY,
were among the approximately 100 attendees at the conference.
NYSSA is a highly prestigious regional organization whose participants include
numerous scholars and promising students from throughout New York State and
the surrounding geographic area. The conference is designed for participants
to present research and works-in-progress in a professional environment.
In addition to presentations, a number of sociological topics were discussed
at the event, including theory, methods, gender, criminology, economics,
globalization, social evolution, race issues, pain and suffering, and teaching
sociology. |
