Associate Professor of Mathematics, Computer Science and Statistics Michael Schuckers will be a guest at the next edition of Clarkson University's Science Cafe, at La Casbah, 6 Elm Street in Potsdam, on Wednesday, November 17, at 7:15 p.m. His presentation is titled "Lies, Damned Lies and ..."

Schuckers will lead a discussion of the basic concepts of statistics, with illustrations from recent events, including medicine and politics.

Science Cafes bring together engineers, scientists and townspeople in a relaxed, informal setting, such as coffeehouses and pubs. The speaker makes a short presentation about a topic in his or her field, and then opens up the floor to discussion.
