The Securities Industry Association (SIA) has announced the appointment of
St. Lawrence Trustee Melissa MacGregor '98 as assistant vice president and assistant
general counsel in its Washington, DC, office. MacGregor comes to SIA from
Crowell & Moring LLP, where she worked as an associate in the securities regulatory and
enforcement group.
"Melissa MacGregor has a considerable amount of experience that we are excited to tap
into at SIA," said SIA President Marc Lackritz. "Her background representing a number
of our members will make her a valuable addition to our legal department."
MacGregor's earned her St. Lawrence degree in government and history, and was elected
to the national academic honor society Phi Beta Kappa and the leadership honorary
Omicron Delta Kappa. She also studied in London for a semester, through the
University's International and Intercultural Studies Program and earned her law degree,
with honors, from the American University Washington College of Law in 2001. As an
alumna, MacGregor has served as chair of the D.C. Young Alumni Committee, been a GOLD
Committee co-chair and volunteered as a career advisor.
