Associate Professor of Statistics Michael Schuckers and Lauren Brozowski '11 will present a poster at the 2012 MIT Sloan School of Business Sports Analytics Conference, March 2 and 3 in Boston. The poster, "Referee Analytics: An Analysis of Penalty Rates by National Hockey League Officials," is an extension of research done by Brozowski for her Senior-Year Experience (SYE).
In addition, Schuckers is an invited panelist for a discussion of hockey analytics; the panel includes two NHL general managers, Peter Chiarelli (Boston Bruins) and Brian Burke (Toronto Maple Leafs).
