St. Lawrence's chapter of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, Alpha Omicron, recently gave
over $2,500 to the Lungs for Life Foundation, the largest single donation
in the Rochester, New York-based organization's history.
Members of the fraternity engaged in fund-raising activities in the fall.
Recently, brothers Robert Bayliss '06, Hanover, NH; Lawson Parker '06,
Horseheads, NY; George Roby '07, Winchester, MA; Evan Kivlen '06, Onchiota,
NY; and Mike Peterson '06, Saco, ME, presented the gift to Robert and
Stephanie White, of the Lungs for Life Foundation. The foundation is
an all-volunteer organization "dedicated to assisting individuals and
families affected by cystic fibrosis." ATO plans an annual fund-raising
event to benefit the organization.
The gift, which ATO brother Domenico Pirrotta '07, Rensselaer, NY, says
resulted from the participation of the campus and Canton communities,
represents approximately 10 percent of all the money ever received
by Lungs for Life.
