A St. Lawrence student has preserved some of her home town's history and earned herself a Girl Scout award -- all by developing a web site.
Rosanna Longenbaker '04 of East Greenwich, Rhode Island, wanted to do a service project that would qualify her for a Gold Award from the Girl Scouts and thought of a passing comment she had heard -- that elementary school school children in her home town should learn more local history. Armed with a camera and scanner, she began to develop a slide show presentation of historic sites in East Greenwich, conducting all of the required research herself. Eventually, the presentation became a web site that has received publicity in the Providence Journal-Bulletin.
