Elizabeth (Lizzy) Lewis '11, of Worthington, MA, has been awarded research funds from the Beta Beta Beta Biology Honor Society to conduct research as part of her Senior-Year Experience.
Lewis' honors research project, examining the effects of antioxidants on the development of a mouse model of multiple sclerosis, continues work begun as a 2010 University Fellow, under the guidance of Assistant Professor of Biology Kari Heckman. In the spring, Lewis will present the results of her research at the Beta Beta Beta regional conference.
A neuroscience major with a minor in religious studies, Lewis is a graduate of Wahconah Regional High School. She participated in the University's program of study in Denmark in 2009.
