Missouri Governor Matt Blunt has appointed Lewis Mills '81, of Jefferson
City, to a task force charged with conducting a review of state and
federal eminent domain laws and establishing criteria that state and
local government entities will emply when the use of eminent domain
is proposed. The creation of the task force comes in reaction to the
recent related decision by the United States Supreme Court.
The nine-person task
force will also recommend specific eminent domain legislation for possible
consideration by the Missouri General Assembly, according to Blunt's
office.
Mills is public counsel who serves as the state's consumer advocate
