The Laurentian Singers performed for New York Governor Eliot Spitzer when he visited the North Country on October 9.

Spitzer was the keynote speaker at the annual dinner held by St. Lawrence County Democrats that evening, at neighboring SUNY Canton. The Laurentian Singers, shown in the photo above with the governor, sang the national anthem to kick off the event.

Spitzer got a view of all four of the county's higher education institutions that day, beginning with a conference at SUNY Potsdam, attending a ground-breaking ceremony at Clarkson University and touring St. Lawrence's Johnson Hall of Science before meeting with community leaders in the University's Student Center.
