Universe Pathways, a Greek science-fiction, fantasy and
horror magazine, has published Professor of Physics Daniel W. Koon's
English-language translations of six stories by Cuban and Argentine
writers.
The works by Koon are published in Issues 4 and 5 of the magazine.
All six stories are available online on Koon's Web pages of
Cuban and Argentine
science fiction.
Also recently published is an article by Koon, "Nonlinearity of resistive
impurity effects on van der Pauw measurements," in the September issue of
Review of Scientific Instruments. A Spanish-language
translation of his original ultrashort story, "A lunar sentinel, 2007,"
has been accepted for publication in an upcoming issue of Axxón, the foremost Argentine
e-zine of science fiction and fantasy.
Koon has taught science-fiction courses in the First-Year Program, including
Science Fiction in Translation, in which he used several of his
translations of Cuban, Argentine and Costa Rican science fiction stories and poetry.
