The Washington Capitals hockey team won some awards recently, thanks
to the work of a St. Lawrence University alumna.
Katie Evereth '02 is game operations coordinator for the Capitals, and has
brought home three 2003 Golden Matrix Awards at this year's Information Display
and Entertainment Association (IDEA) conference. The awards, which recognize the
industry standard for excellence in the game presentation field, were handed out
for Best Mascot Video, Best In-Game Feature and Best Show Open. This is the
third straight year that they have won the Best Show Open award.
A Canadian studies and history major, Evereth was a member of Kappa Delta Sigma sorority,
and participated in lacrosse, Thelmo and The Hill News while a student
at St. Lawrence.
