Jim Powers '10, of Averill Park, NY, won the Award of Merit for the script for Reaping Men at the summer 2010 Los Angeles Cinema Festival of Hollywood.

Powers earned his bachelor's degree in performance and communication arts, with a minor in film and representation studies. He has made a number of independent films that have been screened in festivals, several of them winning awards as well. He also was a member of the football team.
