Jay Ireland '77
University Trustee Jay Ireland '77 has been appointed president and CEO for GE Africa, effective April 15. A 31-year veteran of GE, he has led GE Asset Management since 2007.
Prior to his position with GE Asset Management, Ireland was president of NBC Universal Television Stations and Network Operations. He has also served as CFO of GE Plastics, which the
organization sold in 2007. Ireland is an officer of GE and a member of GE's Corporate Executive Council. He will relocate from New York to Nairobi.
After graduating from St. Lawrence with a degree in government and serving as a U.S. Army officer, he joined GE's Corporate Audit Staff in 1980. Ireland was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity and the football and baseball teams as a student.
