Flags from around the globe hang in the Student Center,
in celebration of International Education Week
St. Lawrence University celebrated International Education Week November
13-17, with flags and stickers identifying sites around the world where
students, faculty and staff have lived and studied.
Sara Trimm, assistant director of off-campus programs in the Center for
International and Intercultural Studies, annually asks the campus community
to let her know their home country, or international locations where significant
time has been spent living and studying. Flags from as many countries as will
fit are hung in the Student Center during the week, and Trimm provides
flag stickers to all who request them, to be worn during the celebration. This
year, Trimm says, stickers representing flags from 103 countries -- including
the United States -- were provided.
In addition, the Student Center had information about options for study abroad.
