A St. Lawrence University graduate is putting his law career on hold to take a run at helping critically ill children and their families -- a run of over 1,600 miles.

Matthew Hoidal '94 is founder and coordinator of the Miracle Marathon, in which he and nine other runners will run from Florida to Maine to kick off the grand opening of Camp Sunshine, a retreat for critically ill children and their families in Portland.

Hoidal co-founded, with his brother, Miles For Smiles, a public non-profit corporation, and through that organization became involved with Camp Sunshine. He joined the Massachusetts Bar Association this year, but has decided to put his career as an attorney on hold.
