About 25 students slept outdoors on the quad on October 3, in an event
to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity, as well as awareness about
homelessness.
As a result of the event, about $750 was donated to local affiliate Raquette
Valley Habitat. Students at other area colleges also participated, on their
respective campuses.
Many students slept in tents, though some (like those in the photo
above) built shelters out of boxes. The event gave participants an
idea of what it is like to be outside without adequate housing, organizers
say.
