An online home-study course by Emeritus Professor of Education Hugh Gunnison has recently been approved for licensed pyschologists by the American Psychological Association and Amedco, of St. Paul, MN. Online home-study courses are one of a variety of ways that licensed practitioners may fulfill state licensing boards' requirements; successful completion gives psychologists 9.5 hours of continuing education credit. The course includes Gunnison's 2004 book, Hypnocounseling: An eclectic bridge between Milton Erickson and Carl Rogers.

Gunnsion will also offer a course called "Hypnocounseling: Listening and Talking to Yourself Differently" through SUNY Potsdam's Stimulating Opportunities After Retirement (SOAR) program. SOAR offers peer learning opportunities in a wide variety of topics and and is part of the national Elderhostel Institute Network.
