Members of the St. Lawrence University Dance Team helped bring local
history alive for audiences of the recent community theatrical production
"Forever Cows: The Canton Story."
The show, produced as part of the celebration of Canton's Bicentennial, was a
production of local theater group the Grasse River Players and was written and
directed by Elaine Kuracina. Featuring music and many area performers, the
production told the story of Canton's rich 200-year history.
The St. Lawrence University Dance Team, led by Canton native Erin Coakley '07,
performed several numbers, to music from classical (Dvorak's American String
Quartet) to hip-hop. Members participating in the performances, in
addition to Coakley, were
Vanessa Allen '08, of Lowville, NY; Sajana Blank, '08, of Montpelier, VT;
Kristen Dacey '08, of Sudbury, MA; Keely Edmonds '08, of Newark, NY; Andrea
McDonough '07, of Clinton, NY; Merrill Stabler '08, of Manchester, MA;
and Jessica Sullivan '08, of El Dorado, KS.
The Dance Team has about 30 members, and performs regularly at athletic and
other events on campus and off.
