The St. Lawrence University field hockey team recently raised $600 through a bike-a-thon, to benefit the Make A Wish Foundation.

The 15-mile bike ride took place October 6, with all 23 team members and Head Coach Fran Grembowicz participating for pledges and donations.

The Make A Wish Foundation was chosen as the event's charity because the brother of team member Erin Mellow '07, of Grantham, New Hampshire, died as a result of brain cancer two years ago, and had been involved with the organization in their home state. Erin's sister, Meagan '04, also played field hockey at St. Lawrence for two years.
