Fatima Sall '13

Fatima Sall '13, Bronx, NY, was awarded first prize in the Human Services division for a poster she presented at the New York State Collegiate Science & Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) Student Conference, held April 13-15.

Sall won the award for a poster titled "Women's Work: Examining the Indispensable Role of the Women of the Chipko Movement and the Niger Delta Protests in Combating Environmental Destruction." She is an environmental studies and sociology major.

Six St. Lawrence CSTEP students were among the 600 participants at the 20th Annual Student Conference. They were accompanied by CSTEP Director Marsha Sawyer and Program Coordinator Katie Kennedy.
