Four St. Lawrence students, and Florence Irene Eggleston Associate Professor of Economics Cynthia Bansak, attended the Eastern Economics Association Meetings held recently in New York City. All five presented research results at the conference.
The students, and their presentations, were:
- Katelynn M. Benzing '11 and David F.R. MacClaren III '11, "Height and Higher Wages: An Econometric Analysis Using NLSY79 Data"
- Hau Nguyen '11, "Natural Resources: A Blessing or a Curse"
- Mohammad Abid Amiri '11, "Implications of High Unemployment in Afghanistan: Labor Migration, Insurgency and Opium Poppy Production (2001-2008)"
Bansak gave a presentation, "Advising the Fed Challenge," in a session devoted to topics on the Federal Reserve. She has also served as the faculty adviser for research conducted by Benzing, MacClaren and Nguyen.
