Danielle Sagor '09, of Liverpool, NY, will be among the students from 28
private schools in New York State presenting the results of their original
research at the inaugural Independent Sector Undergraduate Research Exposition
in Albany on January 22.
Hosted by the Commission on Independent Colleges and Universities
to showcase high-quality undergraduate research projects, the one-day event
will feature a display of student research posters, special presentations and n
etworking opportunities. Students also will meet with legislators throughout the day.
Sagor, a neuroscience major, will give a presentation on research she conducted
as a McNair Scholar in
2007, on "The Initiation of the Higher Education Opportunity Program." Working with
Associate Professor of History Elizabeth Regosin, Sagor - a participant in
the Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP) - conducted a thorough historical
study of New York State's "opportunity" programs in education.
