Vincent A. Dalpiaz '02, of Binghamton, New York, was personally affected by
the attacks that took place on September 11, 2001 -- his sister was to have been
a passenger on the flight that crashed in Pennsylvania. As a way to try to
help others, he has reproduced some of his artwork that depicts a Manhattan
scene, and its sales are being donated to the American Red Cross.
Dalpiaz, an economics and fine arts major, has reproduced a computer-enhanced
digital photograph he took -- when he was a freshman -- from the top of the
Brooklyn Bridge, looking towards Manhattan. The poster-sized reproductions are
being sold for $5 each at The Upstairs Gallery, a shop on Canton's Main Street,
and have already been re-ordered once.
To date, the effort has raised over $350, which Dalpiaz has added to personally. In
addition, gifts of the photo have been made to the families of victims.
