Since 2005, Dale Allen '83 has been "guiding women to their strengths
as leaders," through a multi-media performance piece called "In Our
Right Minds: A Celebration of Women, the Sacred Feminine and the Right Brain."
Allen, who earned her St. Lawrence degree in fine arts, and was a
Dana Scholar who participated in the University's program of study in
London, had worked in corporate and commercial communications for a number
of years before creating the piece, which she performs around the country.
"In Our Right Minds" is described as "celebrating women through history,
myth, comedy, dance, drumming and six original songs." It originated as a
full-length play written, directed and produced by Allen for the Westport
(CT) Community Theater, and featured a cast of seven women of various ages,
sizes and ethnicities.
This year, Allen will not only perform the piece at a variety of venues
throughout the U.S., she is also scheduled to tour Australia.
