St. Lawrence University recently hosted the 17th Annual Career Exploration Symposium and 25th Anniversary Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) Celebration Dinner.
The theme of this year's symposium, which was held February 2, was "Valuing and Nurturing the Expansion of Learning, Intellectual Inquiry, Critical Thinking, and Community Service." More than 130 students and guests participated in workshops related to financial literacy, professional networking, career exploration and the graduate school application process. Students also had the opportunity to attend career roundtable sessions and hear from academics and professionals working in counseling, engineering, forensic science, medicine, public health, and veterinary science.
The dinner highlighted student speakers and keynote speaker Robin Eubanks of the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey, whose comments focused on bouncing back from adversity.
The symposium is an annual event held by the Northern New York STEP and CSTEP Network which consists of Clarkson University, SUNY Canton, SUNY Potsdam, and St. Lawrence University.
