Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) has named Christopher Ritter '72 vice president for marketing and communications. Ritter will lead a division of 20 professionals in the areas of marketing, public relations, publications and the campus Web site.
Ritter had been the chief marketing and communications officer for Binghamton University. Previously, he served as the first director of marketing at Clarkson University, serving on the president's cabinet and developing an integrated strategic marketing plan.
Prior to his decade-long career in higher education, Ritter spent 19 years at Eric Mower and Associates, Inc., a marketing and communications firm based in Syracuse.
Ritter's St. Lawrence degree is in English. As an
undergraduate, he worked on campus publications, was a member of the English and
philosophy honorary societies and was
a tour guide in admissions.
