Three St. Lawrence graduates, including Associate Professor of Geology Jeffrey Chiarenzelli,
have been elected Fellows of the Geological Society of America (GSA).
According to the GSA, "Fellowship is an honor that is bestowed on the best of our profession once per year at the GSA Spring Council meeting. GSA members are elected to Fellowship in recognition of distinguished contributions to the geosciences."
Elected this year, in addition to Class of 1981 graduate Chiarenzelli, were Michael
R. Perfit '71, professor at the University of Florida, Gainesville, and William
Scott '69, a geologist with the U.S. Geological Survey in Vancouver, Washington.
More information about all three is on the Geology Alumni Web site.
