Research conducted by Caleb Spiegel '96 on a rare shorebird species in Alaska was recently cited in an article about the birds in Defenders magazine, a publication of the Defenders of Wildlife organization.

Spiegel, who earned his St. Lawrence degree in environmental studies and biology, completed his studies for a master's degree in wildlife science this year at Oregon State University. He is quoted in the article titled "To Catch An Oystercatcher," in the fall 2009 issue of the magazine.
