Three members of the Class of 2007 have had work published in the most recent issue of Cadernos de Tradução,
from the Federal University of Santa Catarina in Florianópolis, Brazil. All
three participated in a translation workshop taught by Professor of Modern Languages and Literatures Steven White.
Translations by Bryan Clarke '07, Oumou Leye '07 and Domingo García '07 all appear in No. 21 of the specialized translation journal.
Work by many of White's former students, all accomplished in classes and
workshops he teaches, has appeared in previous editions of the journal. White
recently received a note of thanks from Editor Andréia Guerini. Since 1999, and with the recent acceptance of reviews by nine current students in Spanish 445, Cadernos has published more than 50 reviews by St. Lawrence students. "These 1000-word descriptive reviews of specialized books on literary translation have been nice additions to these students' resumes over the years," White commented.
