Suna Stone-McMasters '90, chemical hygiene and environmental compliance officer in the chemistry department, and Nick Lovejoy '09, of Natick, MA, both completed the Boston Marathon on April 19.

Stone-McMasters, who participated in cross country as a club sport while an undergraduate, states that "(Director of Track and Field) Mike Howard lent me a retired SLU track top to wear, and the spectator shouts of 'go St. Lawrence!' got me through some tough spots!"

Lovejoy, a chemistry major, and his brother ran with one of the official charity groups, The Second Step, a Massachusetts-based organization supporting victims of domestic violence.

Stone-McMasters also said that friend Betsy Kepes, heard occasionally on North Country Public Radio, received lots of crowd reaction to her "Rosie the Riveter (We Can Do It!)" shirt.
