A St. Lawrence University graduate involved in the renovation and restoration
of a grand hotel in Cape May, New Jersey, is receiving recognition for her work.
Colleen Bohuny '91 is the interior designer for Congress Hall in Cape May, which
reopened in 2002 after extensive renovation. Once operated by her grandfather as a
Christian conference center, the historic seaside resort was purchased in 1995 with
the goal of undertaking a complete renovation to return Congress Hall to its former glory.
Bohuny's brother, Curtis Bashaw, is the principal co-managing partner of the hotel, and
oversaw the painstaking process of renovation, which conforms to the most exacting
requirements, meeting or exceeding National Park Service standards.
In addition to extensive media coverage in the Cape May area, where Bohuny has been
involved in other design/restoration projects, the project is also featured in the
July/August issue of House & Garden magazine. The full-page feature focuses on the
hotel and on Bohuny's work.
Bohuny's St. Lawrence degree is in fine arts; she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority
and is married to Bruce Bohuny '91.
