St. Lawrence students in the Black Student Union and African Student Union attended the 13th Annual Black Solidarity Conference at Yale University February 29 throug March 2, 2008. The conference theme was "The Ballot or the Bullet: Revitalizing the Revolution."

The conference included "speakers, rallies and workshops about the upcoming presidential election for student leaders around the nation to spark dialogue and initiate change on our respective campuses." Speakers included Tavis Smiley and New York State Lieutenant Governor David Patterson.
