St. Lawrence University graduate Josh Belsky '89 is boat captain for the AmericaOne Team competing for the America's Cup.

Belsky, of Hood River, Oregon, began his involvement with the America's Cup in 1992, as a pitman on board Bill Koch's America3. He is the only American to win both the 1998 Whitbread Round the World Race and the 1992 America's Cup, sailing on board the winning boats during both races. Belsky also worked as pitman on the Stars & Stripes in the 1995 America's Cup.

He's participated in a number of other sailing competitions as well, with match racing, 50-foot class boats and Maxi boats. Most recently, he sailed on board the EF Language, the winning 1998 Whitbread Round the World Race boat.

Belsky majored in sociology at St. Lawrence.
