Shelly Martin '08, of Stowe, Vermont, and Kate Olsen '08, of
Muncy, Pennsylvania, participated in the the 13th Conference of Parties
to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change which
took place in Bali in December. Martin and Olsen accompanied Assistant
Professor of Environmental Studies
Jon Rosales as participants in the conference.
The conference, which included scientists and government leaders from
around the world, resulted in decisions about governmental policy
and actions related to environmental concerns.
An environmental studies/
government major at St. Lawrence,
Martin is a graduate of Stowe High School. In 2006, she studied in
New Zealand, through the University's participation in the
International Student Exchange Program.
Olsen is an environmental studies/
biology major, with a minor in
African studies. She is a
graduate of Muncy High School, a member of the
women's crew team at St. Lawrence, and studied in Kenya in 2006, through the University's International and Intercultural Studies program.
