A research paper by Assistant Professor of Chemistry Ning Gao and a former student has been accepted for publication by a leading academic journal.

Nathan Gabrial Armatas '02 and Gao worked on studying the mass balance assessment of mercury in New York's Lake Champlain extensively, while Armatas was a student. Their paper on the topic has been accepted by the Journal of American Geophysics Union.

Armatas is currently a doctoral student in the chemistry program at Syracuse University.
