Assistant Professor of
Performance and Communication Arts Ann Marie
Halstead has a role in Pendragon Theatre's production of the play
Welcome Home, Jenny Sutter, which opens July 22 and runs
through the end of August. The professional company is based in Saranac
Lake, New York.
Welcome Home, Jenny Sutter is by Julie Marie Myatt; the production
is directed by Anita Montgomery. The play premiered in February at
the Oregon
Shakespeare Festival; that production will travel to the Kennedy Center
in Washington, D.C., in July. Pendragon is only the second theatre
to be granted the rights for a production of this highly acclaimed new play.
The story: "When U.S. Marine Jenny Sutter returns from Iraq, she lays
down her rifle but isn't ready to pick up her children. Buying some
time, Jenny takes a one-way trip to nowhere -- a desert community where
misfit residents gently nurture her wounded spirit and nudge her back
to her own humanity."
Halstead has the role of Cheryl, a therapist.
Pendragon Theatre's
co-founders, Bob Pettee and Susan Neal, were awarded the North Country Citation
by St. Lawrence at Commencement
in 2007.
