Alan Welch '64, "on loan" from his position as director of human
resources for North America for Procter & Gamble in Cincinnati, has a
new product to sell: his hometown.
Welch was recently named interim chief executive of the Greater Cincinnati
Convention and Visitors Bureau. An economics major at St. Lawrence, Welch
is a former member of the Alumni Executive Council and was involved in a
host of activities as a student: Sigma Chi fraternity, the Thelomathesian
Society, ROTC, lacross, basketball and the Outing Club among them.
Stating that he views promotion of tourism and the city of Cincinnati
as being equal to selling "a product, just like liquid Tide or Pampers," Welch
recently was interviewed by the Cincinnati Enquirer.
