Rhythm & Roots: The Blue Moon Radio Hour

Our Rhythm and Roots Ensemble project for Fall 2017 is THE BLUE MOON RADIO HOUR, a staging of a 1930s radio broadcast complete with music and a radio drama.  Think hostess or host, Duke Ellington and ... The Shadow.

Co-directors, Fritz Schenker and Michael Farley invite singers, instrumentalists (traditional stage band) and actors to audition.

Auditions: Thursday, August 31 and Tuesday, September 5 from 4:30-6 pm in Launders Underground

Auditions are low-to-no pressure!  Simply sing or play us a short selection of anything that you enjoy playing or singing — a thirty-second section of a tune you played in band or orchestra, Beatles song, a drum solo, a show tune — so we can get a sense of you as a musician.  Actors!  Bring a brief reading that offers a sense of your personal style.

Rehearsals: Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30-6 pm in Launders Underground.

Our rehearsals take place every Tuesday and Thursday between 4:30 and 6PM.  The  first rehearsal happens Thursday September 7.

Performance date: Tuesday, December 5 at 8 pm in Launders Underground.

Feel free to contact Michael Farley at mfarley@stlawu.edu for any additional information.
