Rhodes-Crowell and Kitito Present at the Africa Network Conference 2017

Faculty members Rhodes-Crowell and Kitito recently presented at the Africa Network Conference 2017 in Northfield, Minnesota. They co-authored the presentation titled: Voices from East Africa: Dispelling Stereotypes through Exploration of Global Culture and Identity. This presentation was based on work completed while co-teaching a first-year seminar at SLU on global culture and identity. Rhodes-Crowell also presented another paper titled: Training English Teachers: Engaging East African Voices for Teaching and Learning in the Digital Age. This presentation was on her collaboration with teachers and students at the Red Rose School in Nairobi, Kenya and Ubushobozi Project in Musanze, Rwanda. Both Rhodes-Crowell and Kitito are members of Africa Network, whose mission is "is to develop and enhance a lasting presence for Africa in the academic programs and campus life of the nation’s liberal arts institutions”.
