Marina Llorente receives Maslow award
Marina Llorente joined the St. Lawrence Faculty in 1997. Since that time she has gained the respect of her students and colleagues. Dr. LLorente’s student evaluations always rank among the best in the department; students value her dedication to them and appreciate the rich cultural content of her courses. Dr. Llorente has been a leading figure in the department for some time. She just finished her second very successful year as department chair and is presently directing the program in Spain. Her “Poetry for Peace,” a campus-wide poetry reading bringing together faculty and students from across the campus three times a semester for a period of six years, has become a St. Lawrence institution and will very likely continue once Marina returns to campus. This year Marina is the recipient of the prestigious St Lawrence Maslow award. With it she will join the ranks of distinguished faculty members who have been granted this award for their outstanding contribution to the “education and welfare of the student body as a whole.”(1) The Department of Modern Languages Literatures congratulates Marina for this laudable achievement. We are very proud to have her as a colleague. (1)University Resources, Mission and By Laws |
