"The Spain abroad program allowed me to be entirely immersed in a culture that I had been learning about for so many years. It was great because I was the only American student living with my Spanish family, yet at the same time I was not alone because the program has a group of SLU students and director who travel together. The amazing thing was that every single day I was learning, becoming stronger as a Spanish speaker, and growing as an individual."

"Spain was amazing! Not only was it an opportunity to learn about numerous things including art, music, traditions, and the language but also about the family life. Most importantly, I learned new things about myself. Every experience is a memorable one, from the time the language barrier puts you in an awkward situation to the last night when you realize its time to go and you wish you would have done much more. Three main things to keep in mind: Be open to try new things, go to as many places possible and really integrate yourself into the culture because you will always be who you are but you only get 5 months to be a Spaniard!"
