THATCamp North Country: Digital Stories

The Humanities And Technology Camp is coming to the North Country!

Join us this Thursday, March 10, in Eben Holden Main, and Friday, March 11, at SUNY Canton’s Southworth Library, to learn about the exciting digital projects underway in the North Country and how you can be involved.

All are welcome. The event is free and open to the public. Snacks and coffee will be provided.

Thursday, March 10

Presentations on topics and projects including:

  • Teaching the History of the Internet: Opportunity and Pedagogy with Paul Doty
  • Flipping the Stage with Jen Thomas
  • The People’s History Archive with Cathy Tedford and Laurel Hurd ‘16
  • Geospatial mapping and the Canton Histories project with Dakota Casserly and Carol Cady
  • Human rights and the iconic photograph with Joe Kling
  • Nature Up North with Erika Barthelmess
  • Twitter and Society and pedagogy with Steve Barnard
  • Digital poetics with Lillian-Yvonne Bertram

The presentations will be followed by a keynote talk:

Hands-on workshops and participant-led projects. Many will be proposed and organized day-of. Confirmed workshops include:

 

  • NCPR workshop with Brit Hanson, Lauren Rosenthal, and David Sommerstein
  • Augmented reality interactive storytelling workshop with Laini Kavaloski
  • Finding and mapping surveillance cameras in Canton with Allison Rowland
